Friday Rex – September 7, 2012

So much great new stuff this week. If you’re a lit nerd and you’re interested in contributing a week of Friday Rex, email us and let us know your tastes and why you’d be a good fit. Sundoglit AT gmail DOT com.

We love this piece from the new issue of fwriction by Liz Wyckoff, What We Know, a story about girls and adolescence and children and adulthood.

There’s this great piece over at PANK by Jade Sylvan on being in your twenties in America.

Really cool new piece, Coburg Castle, by Sam Martone up at Necessary Fiction.

Then, there’s this Chad Simpson piece, Status Updates, over at Body that has some really killer, heartbreaking words. Damn.

Check out this slick double-issue of Blood Lotus, #24-25. Looking good. Some great work there.

Nice sort-of craft piece by an old favorite, Benjamin Percy, over at The Rumpus.

If you haven’t hit up the last issue of Dark Sky, hosted by Barrelhouse, do it. We hinted heavily at that last week, but we really want you to see those words. Including this Lauren Becker story, Perameters & this really cool poem from Kristina Marie Darling.

And, then, wow, there’s this poetry by Natalie Diaz – one of Drunken Boat’s contributors to the Native American Women Poets series (so beautiful) – that’s just rocking us this week.

Finally, this beautiful story about girls and boys and nakedness by the always-wonderful Sarah Rose Etter at Everyday Genius.
